MEMBERS PRESENT:
WEATHER CONDITIONS: TEAM ONE (ON THE SOUTHERN LAKE SHORE) - very cold, and, with the windchill, it felt around -15 degrees C. The wind was from the Northeast at about 60 k.p.h., and we had a mile or more of ice in front of us before the open water. Water really choppy, as we could see tankers moving across our sight line. EXCELLENT VISIBILITY AND UNLIMITED CEILING.
The video camera was tripod mounted, and even with the camera locked, and my holding the whole structure with both hands, there was still vibration in the images. There is no narrative on the videotape, as the wind cuts out all other sounds, but the timer was on, and the length of time during which the objects were stationary can clearly been seen.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: TEAM TWO (ON THE NORTHERN LAKE SHORE) - pleasant and still night with a temperature of around 3 degrees C. Water very calm, with good visibility. However, there appears to be a film of haze when looking towards St. Catherine's and the adjacent dark area.
SUMMARY OF TEAM ONE'S SESSION. The frigid and windy conditions certainly impaired our documentation. We set up at our southerly site at 21.15, having had some problems with late departure, and a drive of more than one and a half hours. Also, finding this tiny park, never having been there before, was not that simple. The park overlooked the lake, afffording a clear view from west to east. We had a picnic table on which to place all equipment, and for P to steady his binoculars against the violent wind! From where we were located, the orange orbs, which actually scintillate with many colours when you see them more closely, only appeared to be about 6 miles distant. This figure being calculated from the height above water-level at which we were located. The orange orbs appeared immediately we were setting up the equipment, and I have quite a few of these on videotape. It would be truly wonderful to have access to some powerful-lensed equipment. Activity continued until around 22.30 when we departed for our drive home. Planes were visible all during our session, and the planes appear quite different on reviewing the videotape. Early on in the session, there were two occasions when I felt a distinct adrenaline rush as these objects approached even closer. They were at about 20 degrees elevation and the faint reflective glow could be seen just on the iced area. The objects were deep orangey-gold, but had more colours mixed in when seen through regular binoculars. NOTE: THIS IS THE CLOSEST THAT I HAVE BEEN TO THE ORANGE ORBS, AND I FEEL THAT WE CAN GET NO CLOSER, WHILST ON LAND.
They appeared at around 20 degrees elevation, from "nowhere", and just sat there. Now, they could also be seen from TEAM TWO's position, which means that they were manifesting right over the water on this occasion. However, they were much closer to TEAM ONE than to TEAM TWO. We were seeing them as very big and bright objects with the naked eye. TEAM TWO was using the very high-powered binoculars.
TEAM TWO FULL REPORT: Tonight we have a SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. 21.03 h. First jewel-like object appeared at 5 degrees above the horizon and was in view for 6 minutes. It appeared in the area of St. Catherine's and just bumbled around over the water, moving very slowly. It went lower and appeared to be right over the water. It seems much closer to me than any other lights on the horizon. Bright orange in colour and seems like one light. Not seen anything in that location before. 3 or 4 degrees east of the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. The orange object was moving in an easterly direction away from the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR, became lower and finally submerged. It became bright intermittently. It displayed no downwards shining beam of light, but hovered over the water for about 1 minute, it submerged, and then moved UNDER THE WATER at quite a quick pace, in an easterly direction. We then lost sight of it. 21.27 h. D sees an orange object with the naked eye at about 10 degrees above the horizon. It is orange in colour, and seems to be approaching the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR quite fast. Becomes VERY bright. It turns and is displaying 5 LIGHTS ACROSS. This is a very big object. Now at 8 degrees above horizon, and lowering towards the water, whilst travelling east. Now at 3 degrees above the water and still travelling fast. Now just 2 degrees above the water, still orange in colour, but not as bright as when it was turning. It is NOW ON THE WATER, and now running along the water's surface. Now submerged with no beam of light, like the previous submersions on April 9th. Submerged at 21.30 hrs. 21.47 h. Object appears at 8 degrees above horizon and seems to be getting lower. Now 5 degrees above horizon, moving in easterly direction, across St. Catherine's, and east of the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. It is lowering to the water, now at 3 degrees, and seems to be flashing. It is orange in colour, moving fast and getting very close to the water. It is flashing IRREGULARLY at just above water level, still moving easterly. Now on top of the water, and is not emitting any beam as we had seen on previous occasions. I can barely see this through the high-powered binoculars. They do NOT appear to be landing on the ground (dry land), because this would be one ...... of a long runway!! This event lasted 1 minute. 21.52 h. Object at horizon level and remaining stationary. Very bright orange and large. Just east of the flashing light pillar (beacon?). Disappeared. I was wondering if this thing just appeared out of the water? 21.57 h. Object appears at about 15 degrees above horizon moving quite fast, and now above the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. Now slightly right of the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. Heading in westerly direction at now, about 20 degrees above horizon. Probably a plane. 21.59 h. Object moving in same direction and same height as previous object. These could be planes, but we see no strobes. Moving in westerly direction. It seems to be pulsing, but moving very quickly. This is at around 20 degrees above horizon and could be a plane. However, pulsing and orange in colour would appear to be one of our orbs. 22.01 h. Very large object appears at about 5 degrees above the horizon. It turns and is moving in an easterly direction. It is east of our SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. This object appears as large as the "5 LIGHTS ACROSS" object above, but there are not separate lights discernible. Still at 5 degrees above the horizon, and moving in an easterly direction, just to the east of St. Catherine's. Now not moving, but slightly east of the flashing pillar and 5 degrees above the horizon. Now appears to be moving west, at same elevation, and looks like it is moving towards the flashing pillar. No change in appearance, passes the flashing pillar, at same elevation and orange in colour. Moving westerly and seems to be getting lower. Passing flashing red pillar, which is west of the flashing white pillar, at about 4 degrees elevation. Luminosity remaining the same throughout. This is moving more slowly than the previous objects. Seems to be in front of St. Catherine's. Seems to be heading towards the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR at same elevation and luminosity. It seems to be meandering, but quite a way from the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. Object now seems to be at 3 degrees above horizon and gradually lowering. Lowering towards water, and no sign of any light beam. Through the binoculars, I have both the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR and the orange object in view. Still moving westerly, same elevation, in direction of SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. Now right on the horizon. Object becomes VERY BRIGHT! The object is right beside the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR, and is now moving east, away from the pillar. Returns to original luminosity. Object now appears to be getting higher, and still bright, but not as brilliant as when it was next to the PILLAR. Looks like it could be taking off. Becomes much brighter. Now slightly lower light intensity, moving easterly, and about 2 degrees elevation, at greater speed. I can now just see the top of the object, so it could have gone into the water, moving westerly. Time of disappearance - 22.09 hrs. 22.10 h. Object appears moving in easterly direction, no flashers, so I don't think that this is a plane. Appears around 20 degrees above horizon, but from "nowhere." This is the third one to come out of the same location and follow the same pattern, moving in westerly direction. They could be planes, they are slow, but I don't see any xenon strobes flashing. They are orange in colour. Maybe they are going out into space. Last object gets fainter as it increases in altitude. Time is now 22.11 h. 22.15 h. Another object appears at about 8 degrees above the horizon, jewel-like in appearance. Heading in direction of the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. Now about 5 degrees above the horizon, brightening up and still heading towards SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. It appeared from the area of St. Catherine's and is heading in a westerly direction towards the S.L.P. This object is pulsating, and, on turning, has become somewhat brighter. Not as large as the object with the 5 lights. Gradually losing altitude, and moving west. It is now flying right to the S.L.P. Right above the pillar, and has become immensely bright. It is very bright, and slightly to the right of the pillar. The SMALL LIGHT PILLAR became MUCH BRIGHTER, and the object is now circling, and moving east. THIS IS INCREDIBLE - IT SEEMS TO BE COMMUNICATING WITH THE SMALL LIGHT PILLAR. Whether this pillar is a beacon or ONE OF THEM, it really lit up. The object is now moving along the horizon, in an easterly direction. It seems that it was getting a communication from the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR to go to a submersion point. The object is still heading east almost on the horizon. I wonder if the flashing white beacon and the flashing red beacon have something to do with this, because these objects seem to submerge around that area. The object is much less bright, or may be getting further away from me. submerges, without emitting any downward beam of light. This event ended at 22.18 hrs. 22.19 h. Towards the west, a very bright object appears, right on the water. This is way out west of St. Catherine's. Right on the water, and much closer to the Hamilton direction. This is one of the "runway lights" that I had seen before. I guess that it isn't a runway light!!!!It looks like it is right ON the water, blending in with the lights behind. 22.27 h. Large orange orb appears about half a degree above horizon, just east of the S.L.P. I can only assume that it has come UP OUT OF THE WATER. Gradually increasing altitude, and not as bright. Moving east, away from the S.L.P, at about 1 degree above horizon. It appears to be flashing. Less bright and smaller than when I first saw it. Still moving easterly towards flashing white pillar, and flashing red beacon. It is flashing red, and getting lower. They always seem to disappear at the red flashing beacon, just to the right of the flashing white pillar (beacon?) Duration 2 minutes. THOUGHT! Maybe it did not come OUT of the water, but just appeared very low on the horizon. 22.32 h. Object appears at about 8 degrees above horizon, orange in colour and moving east. Now it is east of the S.L.P. I believe that it is above the water, not the land. Now at 5 degrees elevation. They come in almost looking like planes. Moving east in front of St. Catherine's, east of the S.L.P. Getting lower in altitude. 1 degree above horizon and moving east. It is orange in colour, NOT a plane. Now right on the horizon, not very big, but you CAN see it. It appears to be approaching the red beacon. It passes the red beacon, and towards the flashing white beacon. Now disappeared. Time 22.34 hrs. I have now surmised, after seeing all these objects land, that the submersion point for them is between the regular white flashing pillar and the red flashing beacon. Some of them know where to go, but a couple of them didn't, and had to "ask for directions." 22.45 h. Object appears above the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR, at about 5 degrees above the horizon. It is gaining altitude, and now at 8 degrees above horizon. Moving east , east of the S.L.P., and now at elevation of 10 degrees. Orange in colour, very bright, still climbing and moving away from the S.L.P. Object moving quite fast east towards St. Catherine's. I still can't tell whether or not it is a plane! Still climbing, quite fast, but NO FLASHERS. Unknown. It almost looks twinkly like the "jewels." Now at 12 degrees above horizon, and has levelled off. Still moving east. Passes the flashing white pillar and going into the "dark area." Maintaining altitude. STILL UNKNOWN. However, no planes, as yet, have been seen to emerge at that spot and at that elevation. Time is 22.53 hrs. 22.54 h. Another orange orb has appeared out of the "dark area" at about 10 degrees above the horizon, heading in a westerly direction . Luminosity has decreased but moving quite fast. Altitude has increased to about 15 degrees elevation, no flashers so it is probably NOT a plane. No planes have come out of the "dark area" at all tonight. Altitude increasing, and now at 20 degrees elevation, and still no strobes visible. Orange in colour and has passed the flashing white light marker and the red flashing beacon. Still gaining altitude, moving quite fast in a westerly direction. This is NOT a plane. No xenon strobes - just a constant ORANGE BALL! It is gradually going higher. I have the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR in view, and the time is 22.57 h. Flashing white light has appeared at 3 degrees above horizon, heading east and way east of the SMALL LIGHT PILLAR, heading towards the flashing light marker and flashing red beacon. It is about 2 degrees above the horizon, it is going lower, not like the previous objects, and displays a flashing white light. Now it is about 1 degree above the horizon, heading towards the usual landing area, and has stopped flashing. It is now approaching the red flashing beacon, and is now out of view, possibly having submerged. Time is 22.59 hrs. 23.00 h. (PACKING UP TIME,THEY SAID!!!!!) Two big lights! Heading west at about 10 degrees above the horizon, and this is NOT a plane. As it turned towards us and headed west it was VERY bright. Maintaining altitude at 10 degrees above horizon, I saw two lights, but there could have been more because I was caught off-guard. This thing is VERY BIG. Moving in westerly direction and originally emerged from the "dark area," and going towards St.Catherine's. This object appears to be climbing and is now about 15 degrees above the horizon. I don't see any flashing xenon strobes. I am getting so confused now, but I don't believe that it was a plane. This object was very big and bright but did NOT emit any light at all. It almost glowed. It is now about 20 degrees above the horizon, heading in a westerly direction, gaining altitude and pulsating. I can see it pulsating. I do NOT see any xenon strobes. This one is much larger than the previous one that continued up and out, supposedly into space. It is now about 30 degrees above the horizon. All this is, is a large orange ball, climbing steadily. It is now flashing red, not strobes, but the WHOLE THING is flashing. It is gaining more altitude, and I can barely see it now. It is flashing intermittently red. Not all the time. It is now gone. Time is 23.02 hrs. JJ |
